1. What is your name? Fiona and Chris Jones and Joey Simpson

2. Where are you from? Henley on Thames and Wales

3. What is your occupation? We're all teachers, but we're retired adventurers.

4. Describe the name and make of your boat. Three Ships (a South African whiskey). Built in South Africa and the guy that built it worked for Three Ships whiskey. A Gitana 43 from 1988.

5. Briefly describe your sailing experience. Chris has sailed five transatlantics including Greenland. The most serious race was around Britain and Ireland race. Lots of sailing. Chris has a yacht master commercial license to teach. You should learn astronavigation, because it is good for the soul. Fi started sailing the same year as Chris but she was 10 and he was 20. She has the same experience but she doesn't care. Joey has done dinghy sailing as a child and the odd trip on Sigma 28 from Portsmouth to the Isle of Wight. She has done nothing for several years until she crossed the Atlantic in 2004.

6. What are your future sailing plans? Not to stop. New Zealand on to Cape Town. Sail till we drop.

7. If you could sail anywhere in the world, where would it be? Antarctica (Fi), Capetown (Joey), and right here, right now (Chris).

8. If you could choose any four people to cross an ocean with, who would they be? Chris: Jesus, Goldie Hawn, Bob Gildoff, and Frank Sinatra Fi: My four grandkids. Joey: The Queen and Prince Philip, Madonna, and Johnny Utah.

9. Is the Queen popular in England? Yes, in England, but not in Wales. We are royalists, so we like her.

10. If Jesus won the boat in a poker match, what changes would he make? He doesn't need a boat because he can walk on water. He would get rid of the captain and replace Aaron with Goldie Hawn. He would turn the water to wine and turn the fish into enough food for 4,000. He would get his old Australian mate to fix it up: osmosis.

11. How do you plan to spend those long passages in the Pacific? Sleeping, reading, fishing, sex, and scrabble

12. How much beer do you have aboard your boat? 39 cases of beer, 16 litres of rum, and 6 litres of gin. Do you think that is enough? No.

13. What do you think of Americans? Bloody awful, So inhospitable. We've learned with paranoia. The Americans that sail are okay people. Americans on land are a little shallow.

14. How do we compare to the French? Better. More space anchoring. The French have a flare.

15. Where is the best place that you have sailed so far? East coast of Greenland (Chris), Belize (Fi), and outrunning lighting storms across the Atlantic (Joey).

16. Will Aaron make it around the world? Yes, as long as your manage your bar bills.
