1.What is your name?
Ryan Learmouth

2.Where are you from?
Maryland, USA

3.What is your occupation?
Unemployed

4.What did you do to deserve a place on this boat?
Six grand in medical bills, you know… I feel it was guilt that allowed me on this boat… whether it was justified guilt or not… here I am.

5.Have you ever been sailing before?
Yes, I have. Not only with the Cook brothers, once, mine uncle, on his catamaran, which is quite difficult to flip over.

6.If Jesus won the boat and inherited the crew in a poker game, what changes do you think he would make?
Well first of all, I guess you guys wouldn’t have the grounds to really dismiss him as easily. What’s Jesus’ agenda? Does he really have an agenda? I mean Christ… I guess he’d want you to stay away from the places he couldn’t reach, because you know you guys will be in some places where he has no influence at all. I guess he’d guide you toward the Holy Land. In Africa or something, you guys are out of his *expletive deleted* territory.

7.What song do you think best characterizes this vessel?
I believe it’s called “Pirate’s Life” by the Mountain Goats, but it doesn’t have anything to do with pirates, but it has all the same things to do with what your trip is all about: open road, regrets and worries that you guys can do anything about.

8.What was the most memorable part of your sailing experience?
Well, I’d… I’d have to say the dinghy ride out was intense, but braving the gas spill on the deck to have a smoke was probably the most exciting part.

9.Will Aaron and Brian make it around the world alive?
The odds, if I was layin’ ‘em down is toward yes… wait Aaron and Brian making it around… I’d say one percent.

10.What advice would you give to Aaron and Brian?
Besides take a gun, I’d say learn something from the *expletive deleted* Paul Bowles story you’re so fond of, and when certain situations arrive, trust your gut and get the *expletive deleted* out.
